When i hear the words, "Media", "Journalism", the first thing that comes to my mind is, awareness, G.S, and as well as, an abuse to power.
Today, how media is covering each and every area, and seeing that, i get so much fascinated that how can media, in a short span, control people's mind? if we glance at our history, yes of course, it did play its role. In freedom tenure, for example, it played the biggest role in spreading awareness, what was actually happening around. Also the time of emergency, in Indira Gandhi's time. But in my belief, it was limited. Translation: it did not have any sort of influence on people's lives. But now, from getting up in the morning, till the time we go to sleep, it's all over our mind.
Here take an example of Anna Hazare, the biggest hero, who is considered to be Mahatma Gandhi's shadow, he is more than considerable point. Question arises "Why"? Actually we (read Indian people) did not make him hero, it was media, who had charm on these "poor" and "innocent" Indians and made them (including me) ponder over this sensitive old fellow, also popular as "social worker". If media is really concerned about corruption and wants to help India in being the top most developing country, then why not it is concentrating on, whose body is thin and diminished, but still her eyes sparks. A North Indian Manipuri lady, who is fasting since ten years for the right cause. yes Irom Sharmila!!
P.S : I hate how media control our minds.
